DolorClast® Focused Shock Waves New 2025

What is Focused Shock Waves Therapy?
Focused Shock Wave Therapy is a non-invasive modality using high-energy acoustic waves delivered to a precise depth inside the tissues.
These shock waves induce specific biological responses that allow to:
- Relieve pain by overwhelming C nerve fibers and inhibiting the release of Substance P.
- Treat inflammation by reducing neurogenic inflammation and modulating inflammatory pathways.
- Stimulate natural healing by activating angiogenesis, improving blood circulation and triggering tissue repair mechanisms.
Focused shock waves are particularly suited for deep-seated pathologies thanks to controlled energy delivery at depth.

How does Focused Shock Waves Therapy work?
DolorClast® Focused Shock Waves are generated using piezoelectric technology.
When activated, piezoceramic crystals emit acoustic energy simultaneously. This energy converges into a focused shock wave reaching deep tissue layers beneath the skin.
Each shock wave consists of two phases:
- Compression phase (P+) creating high pressure and shear stress in tissues.
- Decompression phase (P–) releasing energy and generating cavitation bubbles.
These physical phenomena are essential to trigger the biological responses associated with shock waves therapy.
Why does High Energy Matter?
Clinical evidence demonstrates that a high amount of energy per single shock wave is a prerequisite for treatment efficiency.
Delivering a higher number of shocks does not compensate for insufficient energy.
Higher energy levels generate increased tissue pressure and cavitation, which play a major role in the success of extracorporeal shock wave therapy.
Without sufficient cavitation, some key biological responses do not occur in the treated tissues.

Treatment Framework – Guided DolorClast® Therapy (GDT)
GDT is an evidence-based clinical application of high-energy therapies. It focuses on delivering clinically relevant energy to treat pain and inflammation efficiently.
- Assessment of the patient’s pathology and tissue depth.
- Selection of the appropriate focused shock wave parameters.
- Delivery of high-energy treatment adapted to patient tolerance.
- Use of structured protocols to ensure reproducible clinical outcomes.
This approach unlocks the body’s ability to repair itself and supports sustainable recovery.
