Low-energy extracorporeal shock wave therapy as a treatment for greater trochanteric pain syndrome.

Shock wave therapy has proven to be effective in tendinopathies. Because greater trochanteric pain syndrome often stems from an underlying gluteal tendinopathy, the hypothesis is that ESWT is effective to treat greater trochanteric pain syndrome.
